Because there was no experience with 3D printers at all. Then I was looking for an affordable, small footprint and versatile printer. In April 2020, the printer was then ordered. Which was the Flasforge Dreamer NX. What at that moment seemed to have the best features and a suitable price of 400eur.
When the printer arrived, the first impression was very good.
The printer was ready for use immediately after attaching the extruder and straightening the motor plug that had been damaged during transport. The test print from the included Sd card was also successful. However, when the first .stl models were sliced, the results were not the best. The printer comes with Flasforge’s Flashprint slicing program. Which I didn’t like about the user interface at all. After slicing, the preview is very poor and the printer model options are very limited. Then I moved very quickly to another slicer, which became Prusaslicer. I was the first slicer I got to work on the basis of different pieces of information.
There are definitely more drawbacks (no silent stepper drivers, closed firmware, etc.) but the first post would go too negative. After some fine-tuning, I think the printer has worked pretty well.
